Advocacy
As part of the largest military advocacy organization, the National Guard Association of the United States, the VNGA works to transform our members’ ideas into legislative action and provide states and our members unified representation before members of the General Assembly, the U.S. Congress and their staff on the association’s priorities.

Explained: National Guard Birthday?
This past Sunday the National Guard celebrated its official birthday, but not all agree on the exact date. While the officially recognized National Guard’s birthday is December 13, 1636, the Virginia National Guard proudly traces its heritage and traditions of Citizen-Soldier service to the founding of the Jamestown Colony on May 14, 1607.
