RICHMOND, Va. — The annual joint conference of the Virginia National Guard Association and Virginia National Guard Enlisted Association, and the annual Virginia National Guard Military Ball and Gala registration closes Thursday, July 14, 2022. The conference and business meeting takes places Friday, July 29 and 30 and is open to all currently serving and former members of the Virginia National Guard, the VNGA, the VNGEA, the Virginia National Guard Historical Foundation and friends of the National Guard. Junior Officers and experienced leaders will benefit from the career-specific breakout sessions, as well as from each other, in a friendly networking environment.

The conference kicks off with a motorcycle ride to the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Va. leaving the Marriott Downtown Hotel at 9:00 a.m. The conference returns to TopGolf Richmond for a unique tournament beginning at 11:00 a.m. and costs $55 to attend. The conference really gets going with the Exhibition Hall Grand Opening at 5:30 p.m. at the Marriott Hotel in Downtown Richmond, where a luxurious buffet dinner is served to conference attendees while they move around Virginia’s largest National Guard-specific trade show floor.
Following a full breakfast spread available for $10, Saturday morning begins with an exclusive “Q&A Session” with the 28th Adjutant General of Virginia, Maj. Gen. Timothy P. Williams. Attendees will be able to ask or text questions directly to Williams. Following the Q&A session, participants will break out into career-specific sessions: Enlisted, Company-Grade Officers, Warrant Officers, Field Grade Officers and Retirees. During breaks, coffee and refreshments are available near the exhibition hall.
Intended as a “working lunch” the VNGA’s annual business meeting begins at 11:30 a.m. and will conclude with elections for officers for the 2022-2023 term. Nominations may be made here.

On Saturday evening, join over 350 Soldiers, Airmen, spouses, guests and members of the Virginia National Guard community as they celebrate history, excellence and military tradition with the Virginia National Guard’s annual Military Ball: Hearts & Heroes. Reserve your spot here.
The gala begins with a fun, friendly social hour at 5:00 p.m. including cocktails, beer, wine and soft drinks. Followed by a delicious formal plated music-accompanied dinner and keynote presentation from our distinguished guest.
Besides dinner and dancing, the Military Ball: Hearts & Heroes features a presentation from a distinguished guest speaker!
After the dinner, guests are invited to dance the night away with live music from the 29th Infantry Division Band, games and refreshments. This year’s afterparty is hosted by the Officers of the Virginia Beach-based 529th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion and is themed “Tropic like its hot!” and will feature tropical-themed beverages and snacks.
Childcare is currently available from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and requires an additional fee.
