RICHMOND, Va. — The Virginia National Guard Association, Inc., held elections April 26, 2025, during its annual business and membership meeting at the Founders Inn, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Capt. Joshua Nichols was unanimously elected as the association President. In this role, he will lead the association’s combined efforts to support the nearly 10,000 Virginia National Guard Soldiers, Airmen, Retirees, alumni, veterans, and their Families.
Maj. Shane McNamara was elected as the association’s Vice President – Army National Guard. The VP-ARNG works closely with the Virginia Army National Guard leadership to address the specific needs of Army National Guard personnel, training, equipment, and facilities.
Lt. Col. Jessica Gambone, was reelected as the association’s Vice President – Air National Guard. She continues her efforts to advocate for the Air National Guard’s interests.
The Elected Officers of the Virginia National Guard Association are a group of dedicated leaders who are committed to advocating for the needs and interests of the National Guard community in Virginia. They are elected by the membership of the association and serve in various roles, including President and Chair of the Board of Directors, Vice Presidents, and Vice Chairs. These officers work together to direct the affairs of the association, convene the Board of Directors, appoint committees and representatives, issue the call of the annual meeting and conference of the membership, and perform other duties as prescribed by the by-laws or assigned by the Board of Directors.
