Scholarship Grants for 2024-2025 Academic Year due Sept. 30

Richmond, Va. – The Virginia National Guard Association, Inc., is accepting applications for the 2024-2025 Academic Year Scholarship Grants. The VNGA is committed to supporting deserving individuals within the Virginia National Guard community, including officers, warrant officers, retirees, and their immediate family members. Last year, the VNGA proudly issued $2,500 in scholarship grants to assist students in their educational pursuits.

Application Period:
The annual application period is open from August 1 to September 30, 2024. Interested candidates are invited to apply through the online application form accessible here.

Honoring Remarkable Individuals: As a tribute to their outstanding contributions and dedication, the VNGA bestows scholarship grants in the names of two remarkable individuals.

  • Col. Joseph E. Galloway: In memoriam of Col. Joseph E. Galloway, who served the Virginia National Guard for over three decades and played a significant role in commanding the renowned “Richmond Howitzers.” His legacy lives on through this scholarship, and we aim to support the educational aspirations of future leaders in his honor.
  • Chief Warrant Officer 4 William C. Singletary: Chief Warrant Officer 4 William C. Singletary’s bravery and selflessness during the Vietnam War earned him the Silver Star and Purple Heart. His dedication to service extended to his time with the Virginia National Guard, where he displayed unwavering courage both on and off-duty. This scholarship pays tribute to his memory and valor.
