Date of Legislative Reception Announced

Dec 2, 2023

RICHMOND, Va. – The Virginia National Guard Association has revealed that the 2024 Virginia National Guard Legislative Reception is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at the Library of Virginia in downtown Richmond, Virginia.

This annual reception, slated during each year’s General Assembly session, stands as one of the association’s premier gatherings designed to facilitate connections between its members and senior leaders of the Virginia National Guard with elected officials, legislators, and their staff.

Andrew J. Czaplicki, VNGA director of communications, emphasized the importance of advocacy and legislative affairs in securing effective benefits and resources for their warfighters. He noted that the reception serves as a direct channel for members to engage with legislators, staff, and administration in a relaxed setting, enabling them to share their stories and experiences while gaining insights into the challenges and opportunities facing the commonwealth.

The reception follows the Adjutant General’s annual Distinguished Speaker Series, a structured Professional Development Session beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the same venue, the Library of Virginia. Catering for the event is provided by Mission BBQ.

Attendance is encouraged for all members of the General Assembly, gubernatorial administration, U.S. congressional delegation, and the Virginia National Guard.
